My childhood
I was born in 1976 into a Marwari family. We were (thankfully not anymore) a family who loved to eat. Because of this, food discipline was something that was alien to me. So I ate all nonsense. Bread, cheese and eggs were my favourite. I loved anything and everything that was sweet. I would eat so much that I came to be known as Bhim in the family, with the obvious reference to Bhim from the epic Mahabharata, who was infamous for eating as much as what the rest of the family ate. Thanks to this and due to genetic disposition, I developed severe dental issues as a child. At the age of 6, I had to get a number of cavities in my teeth filled up. By the age of about 25, I had bleeding gums. Again, because of these food habits, I would often suffer from constipation and this led to several problems, including severe piles at the age of 25.
Fate intervenes - I meet my Guru
Fate intervened at this stage and I met my guru at the nature cure hospital where I had been admitted to deal with this problem of piles. My guru has influenced me in a very big way. He has not just taught me naturopathy but has taught me the way to live. And to be honest, naturopathy is not just about dealing with / curing diseases. It is in essence the "art of living". It is less about curing diabetes, blood pressure, etc, and more about a lifestyle where one stays free of all such ailments and leads a happy and a healthy life.
It took me quite a while to accept him as my guru. It took me even longer to tread the path that he advocated. To borrow Warren Buffett’s words which of course were said in the context of value investing, “Naturopathy is very simple, but not easy”. It requires quite a lot of discipline. However, as I keep saying, just like liquor and cigarettes, good health too is very addictive. Once you achieve it, you don't want to let go of it.
By God’s grace, with all this experience behind me, I have started working with patients and I am getting very positive results. Chronic diseases for which people had been on drugs for years are overcome in a matter of months.
What I have learnt during this journey
To see the oceans, one must lose sight of the shores. And that surely requires courage. Like all exploration, this journey of experimentation, learning, unlearning and re-learning has been very painful but very rewarding at the same time. I am sharing below what I have been able to learn during my journey.
All diseases (barring a very small list of exceptions), including many chronic ailments such as diabetes, blood pressure, asthma, can be cured very easily and quickly by naturopathy.
Unlike general perception, naturopathy cures very fast. For instance, my first patient - a lady suffering with asthma for more than 20 years – was cured within about 6 months. Fever can be set right in all of 4 hours.
Naturopathy not just provides symptomatic treatment, but eradicates the disease completely. Surely, it requires more effort as compared to just popping pills in other treatment protocols.
There is only one disease – accumulation of toxins in the body. This of course manifests in various ways. For instance, toxins stored in the liver and pancreas could cause jaundice or diabetes. Toxins stored in the arteries will lead to heart ailments. Toxins around joints could manifest in the form of gout and arthritis. In naturopathy, we call this the “Unity of disease”. As the disease is one, so must the cure also be uniform. Therefore, something that amazed me initially, our cure more or less is uniform irrespective of the disease. Of course, customization is required to some extent.
Fasting is a super cure for almost everything. As my Guru keeps saying, if you fast once a week, you will never fall sick. However, (scientific) fasting is more than just going hungry. It also requires some therapies to be done on the day of the fast. In fact, over the last so many years, I have cured almost all my ailments with fasting. This includes piles, pyorrhoea, fever, pain in the back, pain in the ankles, pain in the gums, and most recently covid-19.
Food is the best medicine, in fact the medicine for I would say 99% of all ailments, if not all. I have come to realise that nothing can be cured unless we change our diet. I see that a lot of people complicate things when it comes to diet. In general, I follow a few rules:
Eat food in a form that is as close to the form in which nature gives it to us, if not completely raw.
Consume plenty of fibre, which means lots of fruits and salads. Ensure that you do not throw away the fibre from the flour.
Keep at least 5 hours of gap between meals containing carbohydrates and at least 7 hours of gap after a meal containing proteins.
Do not eat again and again, as the pancreas are unable to release pancreatic juices ever so often.
Take an early dinner and have at least 2-3 hours of gap between dinner and the time you sleep.
Do not take proteins for dinner as they take about 6-7 hours to break.
Avoid eating non vegetarian food. Meat generates a lot of uric acid in the body, which creates waste.
Lastly, let us forget all about how much protein, carbs, fat that we need to consume. Just remember one mantra – take that food which creates the least waste in the body – which means consume more of fruits, vegetables and salads and less of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
